I love chanel dragon

My current favourite red lipstick is the famous Chanel rouge allure in dragon. It's a liquid lipstick formula with a high gloss finish and a beautiful blue based red that suits my complexion down to a tee :) It fades over time to a raspberry coloured stain and it lasts for hours and hours.

I've had to post the picture on my tumblr because blogger won't let me post pictures for some reason. I don't actually know what I was looking at when I took this picture and this is back in early summer before I had my fringe cut in.

Any future post requests any collection posts? Illamasqua, MAC etc

Looking good whilst pregnant, is it possible?

As some of you may know I recently discovered that I'm pregnant. Now here comes the first hurdle, my hair, it's become harder to manage, greasier and lank. :( not good at all you'll agree. I'm presuming this is a delightful side effect of the mini me I'm cultivating internally but what can I do so I don't look like a Jeremy Kyle reject who's trying to determine the father of her 7 children?! Greasy hair + me = no self esteem.

Second issue is my skin, not only has it become very dry in places and incredibly dull, in others it's like I've dipped my face in lard and I have ACTUAL SPOTS!!!  Having never suffered with spots in any major way before (I'm 23) I consider myself cursed, is this a karma thing or another delightful pregnancy thing?

The last issue isn't a current challenge I face but more for the future - clothes. What do you guys think is appropriate for a pregnant 23 (soon to be 24) year old to be wearing bearing mind I'm a size 16 with huge melons/babylons/boobs/breasticles whatever takes your fancy!! My own personal style is casual kind of basic but I focus on accessories and outerwear. Any tips/ websites / blogs I should check out?

I will be posting something substantial soon girls I promise :) for now this is one sleepy girl signing off for the night xxx

Asos Haulage

So all it takes for me to spend money is an excuse and a free next day delivery code on twitter was reason enough (thanks Sinead). Asos is my hunting ground for bargains especially for illamasqua. I love Illamasqua, I'm not sure if I've actually talked about it but I do love the brand. I already have a fair amount of products, I love their medium pencils, lipsticks and the Dystopia pink smoke eyeshadow quad is possibly my favourite quad of all time.

Soooo to get to the point, Asos was having a bit of a sale on illamasqua, Paul & Joe and various other brands. The prices were hugely discounted I think by 70%! hoorah for cheap stuff!!

The first beauty that caught my eye was the Paul & Joe eyeshadow trio in 002 (don't you think the names are so inventive they just entice you to purchase this exotic sounding luxury item) ok ok so enough of the sarcasm I suppose it's not about the name but the product itself, but the packaging did draw me to it.

Purty aint it?

The colours might be considered blah neutrals to some but they really are pretty, wearable colours for everyday. I needed some 'everyday' colours because the ones I wear everyday are lime green, hot pink, black and purple to name a few. Not all together usually but on the odd occasion :) The texture of the shadows is similar to a MAC veluxe pearl soft but not a powdery crumbly mess. The pigmentation is fairly even and quite good, better than what I was expecting. This is the first Paul & Joe product I have ever bought and I will definately be buying more, especially the lipsticks. I think this was around £8 from £20 and also came on a purple colourway.

Next up is a Models Own nail polish duo that contains red alert and 24K gold. This bargainous lovely was £2! I had heard about Models Own products but never actually seen them in person so I figured £2 wasn't alot of money to waste checking them out. I haven't tried them yet but I can tell that red alert will become a favourite of mine and 24K gold will be stolen by my mum! Red alert is a cream finish blue based red, totally gorgeous I love it! 24K gold is a very metallic yellow toned gold. I can definately see myself buying some more colours from this brand.

More nail varnish!! I have issues :) Asos/Ciate nail paints are pretty reasonably priced at their normal selling price but at £1.50 for each of these I'm very happy.

Ladies and gents I'd like to introduce you to the gorgeousness that is Mary Kate! I can't described how much I love this polish and how difficult it is to describe every facet of the colour. It's a very dark almost black green with lots of shimmer mainly gold but with every other colour that you can imagine in there aswell! Stunning!

Secondly we have Pixie and I'd describe this colour as a darker tiffany colour. It's nice, not my favourite but ok for when i'm feeling a bit random.

Lastly we have Agyness, a mid to dark tone purple with a pearlescent shimmer. Very pretty but not terribly unique.

Just as a side note, I have to declare whether I paid for these things and whether this is my honest opinion. Well I pay for everything I get just ask my debit card it's in pain and this is definately my honest opnion. Surely you can tell when I don't particularly like something because I just don't have much to say about it. I can't conjure up fake product love feelings I'm not a pr robot!

Now that's over with shall we continue? Bonus points for reading this far down and there will be a prize for whoever lasts until the end (joke!)

Duwop is a brand I don't know much about, I was only aware of the lip venom and that kind of thing doesn't interest me. I was having my regular Sunday afternoon blog mooch and came across a post of musing of a muse about a Duwop trio of eyeshadows. When I saw the swatches I nearly died, I just had to have it! The only place I could find that stocked it was Sephora and they don't ship to the UK so my lust waned. Until I spotted what I believed to be the same trio on Asos aha happy times! The packaging is a grey plastic and feels very cheap bit the product itself is superb. Gorgeous and buttery smooth with insane pigmentation I love love love! This was around £8-10 reduced from around £20.

Look how sexy that gold colour is!! (no flash)

Illamasqua I heart thee more and more each day. I added three more cream eyeshadows to my ever expanding Illamasqua collection. Suck, which is a darker turquoise, not teal more darker sky turquoise blue if that makes any sense. I wanted this mainly for an eyeshadow base and to experiment with it on my waterline. You never know until you try!

Next is Love, a very pretty duck egg blue which actually matches the colour of my kitchen walls. Random fact I know :) I bought this to layer illamasqua intense eyeshadow on top of it paired with a pigment I can't remember the name of but it's a pale apple green.

Now the last cream eyeshadow, entangle, looks black in the picture but intact is a very dark brown. I picked this up as an alternative to MACs quite natural paintpot. Hopefully it will add a bit of smoky depth and staying power to my brown/gold looks. These were approximately £6 each reduced from around £14.

My word this post is long!

Finally we have Korres eyeshadows in 51s silver, 46s olive green, 64s geisha pink, 22s orange and 44s golden green. Hang on you might be thinking, there's six in the picture and only 5 listed? As I was opening 42s green white (top middle), it emptied itself all over my brand new duvet cover!!! Not impressed at all, I've contacted Asos about a replacement so I'll update on how that goes.

These are all shimmer eyeshadows and have the same soft but not too soft texture that I love about Korres eyeshadows. The pigmentation is pretty good, maybe with the exception of geisha pink which struggles to show up on my paler than pale skin. The only issue I have with these is that the white packaging feels really cheap and already the olive green shade doesn't close grr. These shadows were about £4-5 each if my memory serves me correctly reduced from around £11.

Ok I'm done! Three cheers and a pat on the back if you made it. If you have any questions about any of the products you see here or would like a review/swatches just let me know in the comments.

Review - Lush Vanilla dee lite body lotion

This lotion was in the Vanilllary box set that I got for free in the Lush boxing day sale. The smell of the lotion is like that of any of Lush's vanilla range, it's a soft natural scent that lingers on the skin for hours afterward. Obviously if vanilla scents aren't to your taste then this won't appeal instantly but I urge you to go to your nearest Lush just to smell this because it's truly lovely. It's a deep but fresh vanilla scent with caramel undertones it smells so good you will be sniffing yourself all day long.

I have used this almost every day since I bought it and it does do a pretty good job of keeping my extremely dry skin soft and stopping those horrible cracks on my elbows and knees appearing. The lotion sinks in fairly quickly, I apply it after a bath or shower and within ten minutes my skin hasn't got that tacky feeling you get with some moisturising lotions. I've also used it on my hands and feet at night with cotton gloves and chunky socks and it made a really good overnight treatment. When I took the socks and gloves off in the morning, my hands and feet were very soft and they smelt gorgeous. Yes I smelt my own feet, the things I do for a review!

This retails for £10.50 for a 250g bottle, check out the rest of the Vanilla range because it's just gorgeous and my favourite smell from Lush. I wish they would bring out a shower gel in the range :D

If you have any questions about Lush vanilla dee lite lotion or would like to request a review of any of the other products I bought just pop it in the comments.

Space NK and Sonia Kashuk brushes

This post could be titled 'the order that nearly never was' it definately took it's time getting here. I've ordered and received lots of things in the same time it took these bad boys to get here.

Oh well dark cloud removed and onto happier things the brushes! I'd heard about Sonia Kashuk from my aunty who lives in the US, she gets the brushes from her local grocery store and they are super cheap. I'd seen them in Space NK and thought "are you having a laugh that's at least a 60% mark up!". Anyhoo about two weeks ago I was mooching on Twitter and saw a few comments saying how they were on sale at crazily reduced prices yey!

After much deliberation I decided on two of the synthetic flat top face brushes - one for foundation, one for cream blush etc; the flat top eyeshadow brush, the concealer brush and the teeny tiny smudge brush.

The smudge brush was purely bought to compare it to my nars smudge brush. On first glance they are nothing alike but it remains to be seen whether they work the same. (comparison post to follow)

The flat top face brushes were bought as a back up of my Jemma Kidd flat top brush that I use for blush just in case it runs away from me! When I looked at them though I realised they would be better for foundation and cream blush/liquid highlighters.

The flat top eyeshadow brush I thought would make a good crease brush for me because I have smaller lids and the 224 isn't precise enough.

The concealer brush was basically thrown in there to stop me buying the Mac 194. I don't like spending lots of money on brushes for base products because I can never get them clean enough for my germ phobic self. I'd hate to spend almost £20 on a brush and want to fling it in the bin as soon as it wouldn't come clean.

Let's get down to the nitty gritty, cost. The flat top face brush was £4.75, the flat top e/s brush was £3.75, the concealer brush was £3.25 and the smudge e/s brush was £3.25. I think they're pretty good value for nice quality soft brushes. They're all synthetic and feel very silky against my skin, the real test of course will be when I wash them for the first time.

Also with my order I received three samples, a mens fragrance, a Rodial diet supplement (could come in handy) and a Fekkai protein rx treatment just what my poor hair needs in this weather.

If you have any questions or want me to review a paricular brush after I've used it, just pop it in the comments. X x two weeks until Imats!!

Superdrug cures boredom

So whilst I was waiting for my bus home after work today I accidently on purpose wandered into Superdrug. I was bored which inevitably led to me buying make up - what a shocker! I'd been thinking about buying Rimmel sexy curves again for a while but because I really didn't like it first time round I was hesistant. With the silly weather we're having at the moment I was in search of a waterproof mascara. Out of almost 15 mascaras I own, none are waterproof! I did spy the rather cute blue packaging of sexy curves waterproof from afar with a big red sign next to it saying £3 off. It was my lucky day, that's all the justification I needed so in the basket it went. Next up was the Gosh counter which was as usual horrifically low on stock. Aside from the permanent stock issues they had a new promotion offering selected items at half price. They had one of my favourite bronzers no.6, 2 of the art liners; a pale gold and a darker gold. Also up for grabs - 2 nail varnishes a pale white gold and an orange gold, 3 eyeshadow quads and 1 or 2 velvet touch eyeliners.

The velvet touch eyeliner I picked up was no.005 Golden Cadillac, a colour I've wanted for a while and at £2.50 i couldn't resist.

The extreme art liner that came into my possesion was no.4 a very pale yellow gold, I think this was about £3.50.

I'm quite pleased with my random purchases, I'll let you know how the mascara fares against the snow :). Hopefully I'll be able to get to work but they keep stopping the buses so I might have to get out my skis!

Oh almost forgot I'm going to Imats in London this year and I'm stupidly excited about it. So excited in fact that I've started writing a list of what I want. I'm really looking forward to seeing the illamasqua stand and mac pro - I'm in need of some pro pigments, a bunch of neutral eyeshadow (boring I know but I don't really own any) and some cheaper brushes. If anybody is going on the saturday let me know in the comments. X x

Boxing day lush haul!!

So I headed down to Lush and took advantage of the 'spend £20 and get any gift set free' offer. The shop was very quiet when I got there at about 10:30 according to the staff it was absolute chaos from the minute they opened. Apparently they had fairytale sets, Christmas eve sets and legends sets which people were really excited about getting for free. Only problem there is that the legends gift set was brought out after 1st October and wasn't technically a Christmas gift so it wasn't included in the offer.

I did buy two more sexy boy massage bars and I need to stock up on these before they disappear I'm kind of in love with them. I also got a honey bee bath ballistic, I've never tried this one before, it's got a very light sweet fragrance and is supposed to be soothing. I haven't used any of the products I've bought yet so I can't comment on whether they deliver on their promises.

The next thing I bought was the floating island bath melt which has a sweet but woody scent which is hard to describe. This melt is supposed to be particularly soothing and moisturising and I'm quite excited to use it- is that sad?

Next up is the comforter bubble bar which when I smelled last time I went to lush I absolutely hated. This time round I adore it and have spent at least half an hour today sniffing it like a freak - weird. This is a pretty big product for the price and I think this particular piece could be split into three baths worth. Value for money yey.

There is an offer for a free tins when you buy two massage or shampoo bars and because I bought two sexy boy bars I got a free tin which doesn't actually fit them in. I'm sure I'll find some use for it.

So because I spent over £20 I got to pick out a gift set for free yey for free stuff!! I'd been thinking about buying the vanillary perfume but I couldn't justify spending £25 on a pefume that I had no idea how long it would last, if I would get annoyed by the intensity of the vanilla scent. I decided after much deliberation to get the vanilla scoop set which has the full size perfume inside, a vanilla fountain bath ballistic, a 250g vanilla dee-lite lotion and a full size vanilla dusting powder. I'm beyond impressed with this offer and I love all the products in the gift set and I'm seriously tempted to go back and buy some more things I've been lusting after for a while just to get another free set!!

There was one issue with my lush haul, when I looked at my receipt about an hour later I saw that the sa had put through two satsumo santas when I clearly hadn't bought any. I went back to lush and spoke to the sa and they were very cool about it and refunded the amount straight away. Then we hit a snag, the refund took my total under £20 hmm what to do. I didn't particularly want any other products that day so I asked the sa what he would recommend and he suggested a tea tree toner tab. Problem solved!! He also said that because he had messed up he felt bad and gave me a lil lush pud :) . I've got to say I love the staff at my local store and the customer service I receive every time I go there impresses me massively.

When I get round to using these products I will post a few reviews rounding up the best and worst of the bunch. I actually have alot of reviews of lush products that will be popping up soon because December was the month I went lush crazy!!

Anyhoo I'd really appreciate your feedback on what your favourite products from lush are, pop them in the comments and I'll investigate (that's code for buying more stuff!!)

Teeny weeny superdrug haul

So I popped into superdrug today as I so often do and all the make up was still on 3 for 2! Yey for me not so much for my purse but I have an addiction that needs feeding daily ha ha.

First up we have a Barry m lip pencil in no.13 I'm not sure what the actual name is but I shall call it palest baby pink. This liner isn't soft at all but I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. The pigmention of the pencil is strong, very opaque and makes a perfect barbie lip if used all over with some clear gloss on top as I did on the bus on the way home.

Sorry about the grim quality photos I'm posting from my iPhone as my computer is on the brink (again). The pencil is a little chalky if used all over but again I don't mind because I like the colour so much! The pink has slight lilac tones to it and would go perfectly with Revlons matte lipstick in pink pout possibly with a slick of one of the Barry m lipglosses I bought today. I haven't checked out any of other lip pencils from Barry m but I will be doing on my next superdrug trip-probably tommorrow!

Next up we have collection 2000 glam crystals liner in no.2 pizzazz a gorgeous green perfect for Christmas. I first heard about these eyeliners on Twitter and I can't remember who posted about them so you'll have to excuse me for not crediting your good taste :). I have been on a rather epic search for the perfect glitter liners, now I have tried products from all price ranges and had limited success. Urban decay glitter liners are in my personal opinion a waste of money see the swatch photo below for proof comparing the collection 2000 and the urban decay. Now the collection 2000 liners are immense the gel/liquid that provides the base for the glitter is coloured to match it which probably helps the impact. The colour range is quite good considering it's a lower end of the drugstore price range. I picked this one up today from superdrug as part of the 3 for 2 offer but they have them labelled as £2.99 which I think considering the quality of the product is very impressive.

Now if you look at the picture above you will hopefully see what I mean in terms of quality of the glitter itself and the distribution of the product. This was two swipes of the urban decay and only one of the collection 2000 the glitter in pizzazz is so fine and almost multi dimensional - I'm in love!! This is my third liner from this range and I will definately be back for more.

Next on the agenda is Gosh velvet touch eye liner in golden moss. I orignally wanted golden globe a gorgeous pale yellow gold but there were 3 testers and no actual products to purchase boo!! superdrug sort out your stock levels! I found this gorgeous colour nestled in between some bright blue twist up liners which also appealed but not as much as this lovely find.

Again I apologise for the horrible swatch but you can pick up the small flecks of glitter nestled in the liner giving it a gorgeous glow. The green colour itself suits my eye colour very well probably because of the warm tone offsetting my blue eyes in a most flattering fashion. This liner is waterproof but I can't confirm this because I haven't worn it yet! When I do I shall be sure to update but I presume it will have decent staying power as bananas does from the same range, even on the waterline. I will be using this pencil all over my eye lid as a base for other colours (the creamy texture will help with blending) or just underneath my lower lashline.

Now we have the Barry M liglosses in no.2 and no.3 I think 2 is called toffee both in reference to the colour and the scent which some people may find overpowering. I happen to like the smell of all but one of the Barry m glosses which I think was no.4. Toffee is a very brown based nude which shouldn't look good on someone with my skintone but does! The gloss stays put for roughly an hour and a half I tested it tonight before I ate and there was still gloss on my lips after my meal. The glitter in the gloss is very fine but still noticeable, it's mostly pink and blue glitter with some green! It all adds up to a very interesting colour. No.3 is a half way house between a gentle shimmer and a full on glitter fest. It is technically clear but does have a pink tint to it and a whole bunch of blue, lilac, pink and green glitter. I should mention that this gloss smells of skittles! I'd advise anyone who is thinking of buying any of these glosses to smell the testers before buying to be on the safe side. It is very pretty worn alone but really comes alive when worn over a pale lip. (see photo below)

On the bottom right of the picture is no.3 on it's own and on the bottom left is it over the Barry M lip liner mentioned earlier in the post. It really does add a beautiful tone and sparkle to any colour you put it over. The gloss at the top of the picture is no.2 toffee and it looks alot darker on camera than it is in real life. It would be a perfect nude for someone who had a darker skin tone than me. On my lips it turns into a deep pinky nude - love :)

Finally we have Barry M nail paint in 292 bright red which literally the brightest red I have seen in a long time. I kind of have an obsession with red nail polish I must have about 15 different variations of red. Everytime I find a new colour though I get excited because here's a red I don't own and it will be mine mwahaha - that's almost exactly what goes through my head because I'm a polish fiend!! I'm not going to swatch it mainly because it's 3:20am and I'm exhausted but can't get to sleep - hence the blogging from Iphone which I am truly in love with having onl owned it for 3 days I don't think I could cope without it!! I will however pop in a closer picture of the polish and make a mental note to do a NOTD post with it soon.

It's not coming off as vibrant on camera as it is in real life which is annoying but I'll live!

To round up this teeny haul which ended up being a massive post I love my new glitter liner and Barry M gloss no.3 in particular.

Goodnight my darlings and I hope I'll be able to post tommorrow night aswell x x

Tag - Top three products for under £5

I saw this tag on Cupcakes and cherries and thought it sounded like fun at least until I can find my usb lead which has hidden itself amongst the debris in my room! I have loads of pictures to put, hauls, reviews etc but it's done a runner :o

Back to business, the idea of this tag is to pick three products one being haircare, one skincare and one make up that are under......£5!

Skincare - Loreal Hydrafesh Normal to combination moisturiser

I love this moisturiser, it feels cooling and refreshing on the skin and is a perfect base for makeup, foundation seems to slide over this easily but doesn't slide off. Now this in places like Superdrug and Boots is over £5 but if you go to Morrisons or Asda it is often £3.8something. I have tried the normal to dry version and it just stops my skin from breathing and is really difficult to rub in.

Hair care – Tresseme shampoos and conditioner

These can often be found on a BOGOF offer in pretty much any place you can buy hair care. I usually get mine from Asda for just under £5 and on BOGOF. I like Tresemme purely for the amount of product you get for the price I buy the 900ml bottles for £5 and they last aaaaaages – yeah that long! They have a huge range for blondes, brunettes, redheads, volume, sleekness, damaged hair etc Not just shampoo and conditioner but treatments and styling products. Go check out some bargainous Tresemme!

Make up – 17 Pressed powder

I use this powder every single day without fail, it never goes cakey, leaves my skin matte but not chalky and it is awesomely cheap at £3.42 a go. I’ve not much else to say about this product apart from the fact that it’s amazing.

Ok thats's about it, I love all these products and use them everyday so they are most definately my top three.  I tag anyone who wants to do this tag please put the links to your blog in the comments so I can read them.  It's good to know people bargain favourites, it saves me money :)  Have a good night everyone x x

A quickie

Wanted to drop a post in quick just to say that this week (sunday until thursday) I will be wearing 5 products a day.  Yeah you heard right just 5 make up items a day! Shock horror, so far I'm loving it, I have more time to sleep and do important things like eat breakfast which I often sacrifice for make up (sad I know).  Anyhoo that was basically it I'll be posting the pictures on thursday of my 5 FOTD's.

Must point out that I was inspired by Lipgloss86 's post on this kind of challenge :)

Have a good night guys x x

Update and Sizzle or Fizzle 002

I'm going to skim over the fact that I haven't posted in a month because a lot has been going on and I'm going to let myself off with a caution ha ha! If you follow me on Twitter you will have probably seen me ranting about splitting up with my boyfriend about 3 weeks ago, for those of you that don't a quick rundown of events, he was being unfaithful, I caught him and I ended it. It is safe to say I'm much better off and now have time to see my friends and family more and do things I love to do like blogging (and shopping :D )

Update over I'll move swiftly ahead to my ins and outs or as I call them Sizzle or Fizzle!

Sizzling so far this month

• The Twilight book series - I am literally refusing to start the last two chapters of Breaking Dawn because I don't want it to end :(

• Nights out with my friends - I've had so much fun catching up with life outside of the boyfriend bubble where my every sentence doesn't start with "oh my boyfriend has that" or "Me and my boyfriend go there all the time" I can't stand those couples who lose their own identity and I became part of one without realising grr!

• Sleek lipstick in Fuchsia 833 - now I literally bought this today but I love it dearly already, I fall in love hard and fast it's only been 4 hours! It is a gorgeous bright pink with slight blue undertones.

• Getting a new camera - this relates to a Fizzle but my replacement camera is being purchased from Curry’s tomorrow after work :D yey

• Finally being able to blog - When I have my new camera and now that I've lost 16 stone of controlling male I will be able to blog without my camera dying after 30 seconds or being told to "turn off the computer I'm not interested in anything you like sit here and listen to me snore on your couch" ha ha not a direct quote but a true reflection of the everyday realities of my ex-relationship.

• Superdrug - my local shop has finally pulled their finger out and now has a shiny new Sleek stand yippee! Yesterday the stand was there empty and looking so pretty and pink. I asked one of the assistants (Emma - yes I know their names I'm in there that often) when it would be filled and she said tomorrow (Tuesday). So on my lunch hour I mooched in and found it almost full with a new palette tempting me, Sunset, apparently there is another coming out, Graphite, which looks gorgeous! Unfortunately they only had the tester for Sunset :( but in the immortal words of Arnie I'll be back! I ended up buying 4 lipsticks, 1 palette and a highlighting powder.

Fizzling its way down the scale

• Not being able to blog properly since I started, it's something I really love to do. The knowledge I've gained over the past 9 months has been amazing and the people I've spoken to on Twitter and at the Manchester Illamasqua event have been amazing, bright and inspiring people. It makes me a bit sad that just when I can really get involved in a community that I love being a part of, no matter how small, there is a lot of drama around that puts a dampener on things.

Enough sad weepy talk a preview of upcoming posts is my parting gift to you because I wuv you all ha ha I'm such a geek tonight I think I ate too many jelly babies

• My mahoosive (huge) Sleek review covering the palettes, eyeliners, lipsticks and any other bits I own.

• My Cherry Culture haul, which is also mahoosive, featuring NYX, Milani and Sinful Colors.

• Eyeko brand overview, possibly the most overdue post in the history of time I mean surely 9 months is a long enough time to test something!

• A mixed bag of reviews, MAC, Urban Decay, St Moriz, L'oreal and loads of other stuff. One thing you will learn about me is that I don't just love to shop, I need to shop it's my oxygen ha ha

Basically I think that's about it, I can't wait to get my shiny new camera but I can't decide between Sony and Samsung at the mo, any recommendations would be lovely. Love and smooches Tilly x x x

I did a bad thing

I suppose the title sounded quite ominous but it refers to me spending a stupid amount of money when I'm trying to save up.

This is how I shop

  • Research - usually swatches online, recommendations from blog posts and You Tube videos or I'll randomly Twitter "what's the best product from (insert brand name here)?" I think this 'method' of shopping is the best way to stop me buying random things which I regret 99% of the time.

  • Up close and personal - this is where I get extremely annoying according to my mother. I take forever swatching, thinking of uses for products and how much I would actually use them etc. I think that it's important though because as I said above random buying is bad for me, I get grumpy when something is crappy - 3 words Rimmel Sexy Curves - such a marmite product and lets put it this way, I've never liked marmite.

That over with onto the goodies I'll apologise in advance for the lack of 'real' pictures as I've literally just ordered these things yesterday and they aren't in my hands yet :(

First and foremost, my MAC order. I've been deciding for what seems like a thousand years what I should get and today I finally got my act together.

My first addition you will all recognise, ladies and gentlemen, the 239 brush.

The next beauty to be purchased was the 129 blush brush.

This next one I'm particularly excited about because I feel my eyeshadow's deserve a really good blending brush, the 224.

My last purchase is something that people might think is unnecessary but I reasoned if I'm going to spend money on brushes I should at least take care of them properly which is why I got some brush cleanser.

This bevy of beauties hopefully *crosses fingers* will be here before Friday so I can road test them before Illamasqua an event which I am seriously excited for and my first ever bloggers event!!

I was hoping to order from the Nars website but it hasn't loaded up fully all day it was really strange and disappointing but I can always buy things in person on Friday!!

Next up is my ASOS.COM order which should be arriving on Wednesday.

This colour I haven't seen before in my local Boots and Superdrug but that might be because they are a bit naff. Rimmel's waterproof eyeliner in Aqua Sparkle. I have the plum colour and whilst I love the gorgeous warm tones it does require a bit of effort but it is true to it's waterproof claim and lasts all day.

Nails seemed to be next on my shopping agenda I picked up Barry M nail paints in Mint Green and Acid Yellow which were on offer for £1.75 each, always a fiend for a bargain, in the basket they went.

The Nails inc Spring Summer 09 collection has been on my mind for as while and this is the one I'm not sure about mainly because Nails inc polishes are hit and miss for me I have 13 or 14 currently and they vary hugely the glitters and shimmers don't impress me really and I prefer a cream finish at the moment. In the end the reduced price kind of swayed it into my basket it was £12 for four colours, if I don't love one then eh no big loss. I'm kind of in love with the blue colour how gorgeous is it!!

Next up we have Korres lip butter in Guava, I have the plum version and I'm basically just curious to see what this one is like.

Last but not least we have Illamasqua liquid metal in Solstice, I already have Enrapture and I love it but I felt like I was missing out. I did swatch Solstice at the counter in Selfridges but it kind of took on a green tinge on my hand, it just wasn't as pretty as I wanted it to be so I passed. As usual with things that I really want I obsess about them until I cave in and get them so whilst I was ordering I figured heck why not chuck in Solstice it's more convenient than trekking to Selfridges. Shopping maths helped me through this one - online shopping = £3.95 delivery charge vs petrol to Selfridges = £5 or more!! Shopping maths helps me out alot :)

That was an epic post, well my lovelies I will put up another haul post tomorrow showing what I got from Boots the other day after work.
I've got to run to catch the rest of the X factor!! I get so addicted to it every year, I love it :)

Tag - Natalie Wants......

This sounded like a laugh so I thought I'd join in. Saw this on Kelly's (kelanjo19) blog and it made me laugh like a loon especially her no.3!! :o

Basically you go to google and type in your first name and then wants e.g Natalie wants and write down the top five it comes up with.

Here we go - so Natalie wants ........

  1. to buy a new shoe blower which is on sale
  2. wants your shoes! (I see a theme!)
  3. you to take action on senator mc cain!
  4. a puppy
  5. to befriend everyone
I am SO glad it wasn't a top six because the next one was Natalie wants to use the money made from auctioning off her virginity to further her studies!!!
Mine are quite tame nothing like Kelly's now they made me giggle it'll be really fun seeing what other people get I even put in my mums name for a laugh :D x x x

Oh and if you guys have got time go check out Elle's blog http://selfconfessedbeautyaddict.blogspot.com/ it's really cute and she's having an insane giveaway! x x x

I'm back!!! With some blog love and smooches

Ok so I'm back on the scene after what seems like a thousand years! (or a month) and I will try and get a blog post per day done mainly just to show you guys the stuff that has been mounting up recently!

Anyhoo I wanted to talk about some really amazing blogs that I love.

  • http://www.scrangie.com/ I don't know her name or much else about her apart from the fact that she loves nails!! Before I buy any nail polish I check her blog and see what colours and formulations she recommends and act accordingly. Her swatches are perfectly lit and applied which makes reading her blog a joy. She seems to get all the new OPI, Zoya, Essie polishes before any other blogger. You will literally drool at all the gorgeous colours she has. I should stop blabbing now so you can all go read her blog!!

  • Next up is Vanessa from http://nessasarymakeup.blogspot.com/ this girl is so sweet and has just got engaged! I love her blog it is amazing, it's a really good mix of her everyday life and her shopping habits! As with 'scrangie' her swatches are brilliant when I was ordering my NYX products from cherry culture, her blog is the first place I went. I love her eyeshadow map showing people where to put eye shadows (up until the first time I read her blog I didn't know what the outer V was!) Her make up looks are always gorgeous and vibrant and never fail to inspire me. I wish she would make youtube videos again because I thought they were all great (for some reason I never subscribed?weird!)
And that is everything for tonight! Except to say thank you to the people I've been chatting to on twitter these past few days, I've had swine flu and been stuck in my room for 5 days but tomorrow is my last day!! Wooohoo! I can shop again! x x x

20 Questions Tag!!

20 Questions Tag!

I wasn’t technically tagged but I haven’t posted in forever so I’m doing it and there’s nothing you can do to stop me :p

1. Things you cannot leave the house without:Hmm can I just say my bag and all the junk in it?!Ok if I had to narrow it down to say 3 things it would be phone, Vaseline (or any lip balm) and money/debit card.

2. Favourite brand of Make Up:At the moment it would have to be Urban Decay I’ve been using the Ammo palette almost every day recently. But all time favourite 17 from Boots I love the eyeshadows.

3. Favourite flower:Wasn’t really ‘into’ flowers until recently but I’ve discovered that sunflowers are my favourite flower. I think they’re gorgeous.

4. Favourite clothing store:Shoes – used to be New Look, at the moment not really impressed but most of my shoes are from there so we’ll go with New LookBasics – Next because they are usually cheaper than New Look, H&M etc
Everything else – Debenhams just for the sheer variety of brands and products

5. Favourite perfume:All my favourites get discontinued but it was Armani Night (red bottle) then Gucci (clear bottle brown liquid smells quite manly but also a bit like talc!) and now the new-ish Gucci in the brown bottle think it may be called Gucci? lol

6. Heels or Flats:Everyday wear got to be flats except in winter I like to get out my knee high boots. Nights out – heels but I’d like to wear flats to be honest I’m getting kind of low maintenance when it comes to shoes.

7. Do you make good grades:Eh kind of not as good as I should have done

8. Favourite colours:Used to be baby blue then teal now purple although I am rocking the black/white black/cream combo at the mo

9. Do you drink energy drinks:Used to be a blue bear junkie (Spars version of red bull) just to keep me awake through my old job (it sucked) but now don’t drink it at all

10. Do you drink juice:Yeah sometimes apple is my fave but like orange as well smooth though no bits! God help if I find bits in my juice! I drink it more on holiday mainly because they give you gallons of it with breakfast :D

11. Do you like swimming:No, I LOVE swimming!! Used to swim competitively but got into partying and that kind of faded away but I still love it only really get time for it when on my hols.

12. Do you eat fries with a fork:I’ve loved reading peoples answer to this dunno why just a weird fascination I guess. To answer the question though I eat chips with a fork if they’re part of a meal that wasn’t from a drive through (home-cooked, restaurant etc)

13. Favourite moisturiser:L’oreal Hydrafresh I think it’s called it was discontinued in Boots then Superdrug stocked it now they just do the dry skin one which makes my skin drier????I have found that they stock the oily/combo one in Morrisons hurrah!! I can’t be bothered going on a new moisturiser hunt

14. Do you want to get married later on in life: Hmm yeah if I find the right person logic will go out the window and I’ll be all bridezilla! but I don’t necessarily think marriage equates to a happy life together. I know people that have been together 40 years without being married. So it’s each to their own really.

15. Do you get mad easily:Yeah but I calm down really quickly as well.

16. Are you into ghost hunting:let me think nah not really lol random question!

17. Any phobias: Small heights yeah that’s right standing on a ladder, chair, stool, couch whatever I will freak out (in my head but I never let it show) The weird thing is though that I love huge heights they completely fascinate me! Skydiving?sign me up! Rock climbing? Love it! Flown a plane? Why yes I have! See I’m weird!

18. Do you bite your nails:Used to but stopped when I learnt that biting ONE nail- just one!! Is equivalent to licking a toilet seat in terms of bacteria and such. So since licking a toilet seat is something I’d never do I stopped cold turkey and haven’t done it in 9 years!!

19. Have you ever had a near death experience:Yes

20. Do you drink coffee:Nope used to in college mainly because you got a kit kat free to dunk with it!

I tag all of my followers and anyone who randomly reads this! x x x

If you were to buy one thing from GOSH what would it be?

Sounds like an impossible question right? Well I'm trying to work out what I should get in the 3 for 2 offer currently on at Superdrug. I'd like you guys that read my blog (if you still do lol) to say what you think is the best product that they do.

Ooh one minor point you can't say Darling lipstick because it really is the 'darling' of Youtube and the blogs.

The reason I'm doing this is because I don't actually own anything from GOSH. I have been curious about it for a while now but have never really gone out of my way to buy something.

So yeah I hope some of you comment with your suggestions because in the end I think that's why we all blog and watch videos on YT because we like to see the products being tested by regular people. So I want to know what products from GOSH have worked for you, what did you love? On the flip side I'd also like to know what to stay away from, what products you think are even worth the trip into town!

Anyhoo thanks in advance guys and I'll write soon expect some very picture heavy posts over the weekend, I've accumulated a scary amount of stuff over recent weeks and just not had chance to get pictures and blog about it.
